HISTORY
1939
Eddie Farrall shows signs of being an entrepreneur from the age of 9, when he built himself a goat cart and starts selling sticks.
1956
Eddie and Joan Farrall founded the business in Mickle Trafford, living in a caravan and operating an O’ Type Bedford.
The Bedford was later sold and a more robust Seddon was purchased.
1958
A small move to Barrow and the first new truck, a
Thames Trader was  purchased.
1961
Joan and Eddie had their first son, Mike, and the business moved to Church Road, Ashton.
1965
Eddie came off the road to build a workshop and run a traffic office. The fleet now at 6 vehicles and more children on the scene, one being Mark Farrall.
1970
Fleet has grown to 16 vehicles, Mercedes now introduced into the fleet and a Transport Manager, Ron Parkinson joined the business.
1980
Mark left school and joined the family business in the workshop.
1982
After serving a motor vehicle apprenticeship Mike joined the company as a HGV Driver.
1984
Major fire at the depot as 6 vehicles were destroyed.
1987
Depot moved across the village from Church Road to Ashton Lane, Ashton. Creating a new workshop and warehouse facility.
1993
Elaine, Mike’s wife, started working in the business in the accounts department. Founders, Joan and Eddie, retired.
1996
The business joins the Transport Association.
2001
A big decision was made to join Palletforce, becoming a founder member.
2001
Paul Mather joined as a HGV Driver & was quickly deployed to the traffic office.
2005
The first major warehouse was purchased on Deeside Industrial Estate.
2008
Matthew Farrall joined the business full time after many years of gaining experience in all areas on a part-time basis.
2011
Katharine Farrall joined the business full time as Finance Manager.
Farrall’s starts a joint venture business with fellow haulage operator Fagan & Whalley Ltd to create FFW Ltd, a dynamic 4PL.
2014
Farrall’s invests £3.5m in new Deeside warehousing facility adding a 80,000sq ft distribution centre to our portfolio.
2015
Mike Farrall steps up to Chairman.
2015
Katharine Farrall is appointed Finance Director.
2016
Farrall’s refreshes brand identity to represent their growth and diversity within the logistics industry, forming Farrall’s Group.
Farrall’s celebrates 60 year anniversary.
2017
New semi-automated storage solution is installed at Deeside with a global leading WMS powered by Jungheinrich.
2019
Matthew Farrall rejoins the business after spending 5 years gaining experience throughout the logistics sector, and is appointed Managing Director.
Farrall’s Group completes the purchase of Edge’s Electrical.
2020
Farrall’s Group surpassed ten-million-pound turnover, and the fleet surpasses 50 vehicles.
2021
Paul Mather is appointed Commercial Director. 65 year anniversary Scania is added to the fleet.
2022
Farrall’s Group turns over fifteen million pounds. Due to the ever expanding office team, Deeside Second Avenue Depot becomes Head Office.
2022
The Fleet surpasses 60 vehicles.
2022
Farrall’s Group open a depot in Sandycroft with a specialised workshop, offices & training rooms. A further Depot is opened in Newport.
2023
Mark Farrall steps down as Director.
The Fleet surpasses 80 vehicles.
