We are incredibly proud to share that Farrall’s Group has been awarded Gold status in the Ministry of Defence’s Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS). This is the highest level of recognition available to employers who go above and beyond in supporting the Armed Forces community.
To us, this achievement reflects our long-standing commitment to veterans, reservists, service leavers, and military families both within our business and in the wider communities we serve.
What Is the Employer Recognition Scheme?
The Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) celebrates UK organisations that actively demonstrate their support for the Armed Forces community. Employers begin as signatory of the covenant, and then can progress through Bronze, Silver and finally the Gold ERS Award.
The Gold Award is reserved for employers who:
- Proactively advocate for the Armed Forces community in their industry and networks
- Have fully supportive HR policies for veterans, reservists, and military families
- Provide flexibility for reservist training and deployment
- Actively encourage others to sign the Armed Forces Covenant
- Demonstrate real impact through employment, support, and advocacy
Achieving Gold status means a business takes sustained action to improve outcomes for those who have served or continue to serve.
What This Means to Farrall’s Group
As a family-run business with strong values of responsibility, respect, and community, we’re honoured to be recognised at the highest level for our support of the Armed Forces community.
This award reflects the work we’ve done and continue to do to ensure our business is a welcoming and supportive place for service personnel and their families.
We Employ Veterans and Reservists– Members of the Armed Forces community bring invaluable skills to our workplace including discipline, leadership, resilience, and teamwork. We’re proud to employ several veterans and reservists across our operations and are always looking to welcome more.
We Offer Flexible, Supportive Policies– We know that balancing military commitments with a career can be challenging. That’s why we offer paid leave for reservist duties, flexible working where possible, and a workplace culture that recognises the unique challenges and contributions of the Armed Forces community.
We Advocate for the Armed Forces Community Publicly– We’re active signatories of the Armed Forces Covenant and proudly support Armed Forces Day each year. Beyond this, we also champion the value of veterans and military families in the logistics sector encouraging other businesses to take part in the ERS and offer similar support.
